Chef TJ moved to Maui from Virginia in 2021 and brought with him over 25 years of culinary experience. While getting to know and greatly enjoying Maui’s food scene, he realized it lacked a food truck that fused Mainland comfort foods with the bao buns that are so prevalent in Hawaii. He spent his days off daydreaming in the sun of all the possibilities and eventually Suns Out Buns Out was born! With his expansive background and dedication to his craft, Chef TJ brings you a dining experience you won’t soon forget. 

They are a popular street food in East Asia. Here at Suns out Buns out we have taken that traditional bun and combined it with some not so traditional fillings.
